OSOYOOS DESERT CENTRE PRESENTS
MOVIE and an EXPERT

Kiss the Ground

While dirt may not be the obvious answer to reversing climate change, filmmakers Joshua Tickell and Rebecca Harrell make a good case for the healing power of soil. A revolutionary path, suggests narrator Woody Harrelson, but a solution deemed simple, and equally important, optimistic.

with special guest Lee McFadyen

Growing up in Australia on a multi-generational family farm surrounded by wilderness, Lee's father, grandfather and great grandfather instilled in her a love for nature. Transplanted to the Similkameen Valley in 1970, Lee became a pioneer organic farmer caring for the soil as if it matters. She quickly developed concern for our rapidly disappearing wild spaces and joined various conservation groups. At ODC, she began leading Friday night tours in 1999, accepted an invitation to join the Board in 2011, and stepped into the President's role 10 years ago. Lee provides a captivating local perspective on the crucial imperative to care for the Earth's soil.
