Daily Tours

During May to October, a guided tour takes you along a one and half kilometre boardwalk trail that winds through the arid shrubs and grasses to four interpretive kiosks. You will learn about desert ecology, ecological restoration and the conservation of this threatened and fragile ecosystem. Tours last about an hour. Self guided tours are also available.

Cost: $6.00 for Adults, $5.00 for Students & Seniors, $3.00 for Children aged 3-12, $15.00 for Families.

(Closed Tuesdays)
 
10:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Tour Times:
10:00am, 12:00 noon and 2:00pm
Self-Guided Tours:
10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

 

The Desert Centre will remain open for the season until October 5, 2007.  If you would like a tour after October 5, please phone the office at 1-877-899-0897 and we will be happy to accommodate you!

Group Tours

If you are visiting us in large numbers, you may want a tour specifically designed for your group. The Desert Centre has ample parking for buses RV’s and other vehicles. The boardwalk is wheelchair accessible and safe for strollers and any group can be accommodated. Tours can be customized to suit specific interests, for example seniors groups, naturalists and ESL groups. Please book in advance.

Visitor Centre News
What's new at the centre? - Night Tours!  Three nights a week, we now offer the chance to see the desert at night.  As most animals are crepuscular (come out at dawn and dusk), there is a greater chance of seeing the wildlife that live in this harsh environment.  Come and see what you can find!
