Well, looking around town in Osoyoos, there are a number of businesses and organizations with the word "Sonoran" in the title. It is true that our pocket desert is a part of the Sonoran Life Zone that stretches all the way into Mexico, but it is not true that our desert is part of the Sonoran desert which is located in southern USA.
