PREDATORS – Movie & An Expert

Celebrate the beauty of winter and see lynx, wolves and other predators in action in “The Wild Canadian Year: Winter.” After the film meet Houdini, a Great Horned Owl from SORCO Raptor Rehab Centre, and learn fascinating facts about this amazing local predator.

Hear from scientists working to unravel the mysteries of claws, horns and more in the documentary “Extreme Animal Weapons.” Following the film, Valerie Blow with the Okanagan-Similkameen Stewardship Society will discuss local snakes and their adaptations. An animal presentation featuring Nora the Gophersnake included!

Take a close-up look at the egg and discover the secrets behind this amazing life support system. After the film “The Egg: Life’s Perfect Invention,” naturalist Sherry Linn will be on hand to talk about cavity nesting birds and her experiences working with bluebirds.
