What's Happening?

The Osoyoos Desert Centre is open until the September long-weekend 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. We are closed Tuesday September 8. September 9 to early October we are open Wednesday to Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday) 10 am to 2 pm. See you at the Centre!!

The Osoyoos Desert Society has been closely monitoring COVID-19 updates as they are reported. In light of the latest directives issued by public health authorities we have decided to postpone our remaining two Movie & an Expert winter programs until further notice.

Hear from scientists working to unravel the mysteries of claws, horns and more in the documentary “Extreme Animal Weapons.” Following the film, Valerie Blow with the Okanagan-Similkameen Stewardship Society will discuss local snakes and their adaptations. An animal presentation featuring Nora the Gophersnake included!

Take a close-up look at the egg and discover the secrets behind this amazing life support system. After the film “The Egg: Life’s Perfect Invention,” naturalist Sherry Linn will be on hand to talk about cavity nesting birds and her experiences working with bluebirds.
