Desert Centre Tours

Guided and self-guided tours are offered at the Desert Centre to give visitors the opportunity to experience Canada’s unique desert habitat. Private tours for groups and schools are also available upon request, and special ‘Feature Tours’ are held on select dates during the summer. 

School Tours
Each year the Osoyoos Desert Society provides educational tours to hundreds of students. Elementary through post-secondary classes are able explore and learn about the local environment during specially-themed guided tours. Programs also include a chance to visit the hands-on displays in the interpretive centre.  

 Free programs for School District 53 classes are made possible thanks to on-going funding from Fortis BC.

Boardwalk Trail Interpretive Signage
Along the boardwalk trail at the Desert Centre interpretive signs have been installed to provide insights into the area’s habitat and wildlife. A multi-year project is currently underway to upgrade and expand the interpretive signage at the Centre to enhance the educational experience for visitors.
