Unique Habitat

Tucked into the southernmost corner of British Columbia’s beautiful Okanagan Valley, this extraordinary habitat is home to one of North America’s most fragile and endangered ecosystems. The area hosts one of the largest concentrations of species at risk (over 100 rare plants and over 300 rare invertebrates) in Canada, and is of international importance. Our desert is actually part of the Great-Basin Desert. To see a map, click HERE.

Green Golf Course - In more ways than one!

This year the Osoyoos Desert Society and the Osoyoos Golf & Country Club created a partnership with the objective of planning and implementing restoration work around the new nine desert holes at the golf course.     Fortis BC and The Real Estate Foundation of BC are sponsors of this project.   Because part of the Society’s mandate is to restore the endangered antelope-brush habitat in the South Okanagan, we are very happy to provide assistance to the Golf Club in their interest to create a unique, environmentally sensitive golf course.
